Why Aaron Rodgers And The Jets Will Live Up To The Hype
Danielle Parhizkaran/NorthJersey.com / USA TODAY NETWORK

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are once again one of the most talked about teams in the NFL throughout the offseason. Fans and the media are expecting them to be Super Bowl contenders in 2024.

After receiving the same kind of hype last offseason, the Jets suffered one of the biggest stunners that the league has seen in quite some time. Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles on the very first drive of the season. Nothing went right after that moment for the franchise.

Thankfully, Rodgers has been able to recover back to full health and he’s ready to get back on the field to start this season.

Even with Rodgers coming back, are the Jets truly good enough to live up to the hype that they are receiving? Only time will tell, but we certainly think that they will.

Why Aaron Rodgers And The Jets Will Reach Expectations

Let’s go ahead and dive into three reasons why the Jets are going to be able to live up to the hype and be serious contenders in the AFC this season.

3. Nothing Was That Broken Last Season

Honestly, the Jets were not a very broken team last season. The media ran a lot of stories about how the Jets were simply the awful team that everyone has made fun of them for being, but that is far from the case.

Despite what the 7-10 record says, the Jets were very competitive. They barely lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 23-20, lost 15-10 to the New England Patriots, lost 16-12 to the Las Vegas Raiders, and lost 13-8 to the Atlanta Falcons. Those four losses were only lost by a total of 17 points.

With a healthy superstar quarterback, it seems likely that those games would have been flipped in the Jets’ favor, which would have resulted in an 11-6 record.

2. The Talent Level Is Impressive Across The Roster

Next up, there is no one that can look at the Jets’ roster and see anything other than talent completely across it.

Defensively, the Jets feature names like Sauce Gardner, C.J. Mosley, Javon Kinlaw, Haason Reddick, Quinnen Williams and more. Offensively, they have elite talent in Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Mike Williams, and more.

On both sides of the football, this team has the talent level needed to win.

1. The Return Of Aaron Rodgers With A Chip On His Shoulder

We haven’t seen Rodgers as excited about football as he was prior to his injury last season. He wanted to take the Jets back to the promised land. A focused and motivated Rodgers is a terrifying picture for any opposing defense.

Following the brutal Achilles injury, Rodgers attacked his recovery process with a fire that he hasn’t had in years. He has on a chip on his shoulder, he feels cheated by the injury, and he is ready to take that out on every team he faces. That alone makes the Jets an extremely dangerous team.

Adding one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game to a team that is loaded with talent makes this a no-brainer. The Jets are going to be a contender in the AFC. Rodgers is going to turn the franchise around and take them back to the playoffs.
